Lybbie is an educational tool, not medical advice.

Not a substitute for professional care
Lybbie Milk Health Check-In ("Lybbie") is an educational and self-tracking tool intended to support — not replace — the relationship between you and qualified healthcare providers. The information, scores, plans, and content surfaced inside Lybbie are for general informational purposes only and do not constitute medical, lactation, nursing, mental-health, nutrition, or other professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Always consult a qualified healthcare provider — your obstetrician, midwife, lactation consultant, pediatrician, or primary-care provider — for any questions about your or your baby's health. Never disregard or delay professional medical advice because of something you read or saw in Lybbie.
When to seek care immediately
Lybbie is not designed for emergencies and cannot detect emergent conditions. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 (or your local emergency number) or go to the nearest emergency department.
Examples of symptoms that warrant same-day or emergency evaluation include:
- Heavy or worsening vaginal bleeding (soaking a pad in an hour, or passing large clots)
- Fever of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher, especially with breast redness, body aches, or flu-like symptoms
- Worsening breast pain, redness, or hardness that is not improving
- Severe headache, vision changes, chest pain, or shortness of breath
- Thoughts of harming yourself or your baby — call or text the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (US), or the Postpartum Support International HelpLine at 1-800-944-4773
About the Daily Readiness Score and Four Foundations
The Daily Readiness Score, the Four Foundations (Recovery, Wellness, Comfort, Rhythm), and the 48-hour action plans are educational outputs derived from your self-reported daily inputs. They are pattern-based, not diagnostic. A score does not mean your supply, recovery, or health is "fine" or "not fine," and a low score is not, by itself, a reason for alarm. Use these signals as a conversation starter with your provider — not as a verdict.
Evidence and sources
Lybbie's coaching content draws on guidance from organizations including the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine (ABM), the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and the Women, Infants, and Children program (WIC). Even where guidance is well established, individual situations vary; what is appropriate for one parent may not be appropriate for another.
Limitations of self-reported data
Lybbie's outputs depend on what you enter. Inaccurate, incomplete, or inconsistent check-ins will produce inaccurate, incomplete, or inconsistent guidance. Lybbie does not have access to your medical records, lab results, vitals, or your baby's growth data, and cannot account for clinical context that only your provider can assess.
Medications, supplements, and health conditions
Information surfaced in Lybbie about medications, supplements, herbs, or health conditions is general education. Do not start, stop, or change any prescribed treatment based on Lybbie. Compatibility of medications with breastfeeding can vary by drug, dose, the age of your baby, and your individual circumstances — always check with a qualified provider and consult trusted databases (such as LactMed).
No clinician-patient relationship
Use of Lybbie does not create a clinician-patient, lactation-consultant-patient, or any other professional relationship between you and Lybbie or its operators. Lybbie does not provide individual diagnosis, prescription, triage, or care.
AI-assisted features
Some Lybbie features (including the Lil LactBot chat assistant, when available) use AI-generated content. AI assistants can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Do not rely on them for clinical decisions. Verify important information with a qualified provider.
No warranties
Lybbie is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lybbie and its operators disclaim liability for any decisions made or actions taken (or not taken) based on use of Lybbie.
